Do you guys remember when we posted pictures a few months back of our visit at the Emmanuel Perrotin Galerie where we mentioned a secret project? Well here is some additional information as well as a few pictures.
The chair below is called Perspective. It was designed by Pharrell in collaboration with Domeau & Pérès who built it and will be making the additional chairs. The chair, as well as another chair design and a table will be part of a show in Paris at the prestigious Emmanuel Perrotin Galerie. The show will be from October 21st 2008 until January 10th 2009. The chairs will be available in a few colors and only 4 of each will be sold. The chair below represents the love between a woman and man.
“I had often wondered what it’s like to truly be in love,not lust for once..So I decided not to ask what it was like in someone else’s shoes or what it was like to sit in their seat..I decided to sketch out my own experiment; the perspective chair.”

That is beautiful. It’s compelling. With what he said about love and then seeing the chair, it makes sense.
Wondering where it keeps going wrong. Facing the disappointment of yet another conquest.Walking away with nothing more than fool’s gold.Longing for that kind of true intamcy, that kind of knowing. What is the procedure for true, enduring love?
I feel like those legs belong to a couple that know each other like no one ever has known them. Spiritual, understood, real, and never subject to the opinions of others.

Willy Wonka decor indeed!!
It’s hard not to be struck by the figure of this beautiful piece. P, you have highly-conceptualized a hauntingly beautiful quality piece of furniture. I love it’s intellectual deep concept, it almost reminds me of Adam & Eve. This chair conveys the ultimate most important message. Such is the power of true love! Stylisticly, the pose of the legs are as lyrical as it gets. Sometimes we as humans momentarily stay against confusion. Treking this quest of finding true pure love for a lasting monogamous committment amongst all frivolous and shallow, superficial lust. You need more. Something worth of stimulation.
But at the end of the day, we all need to be reminded of something we know is true — that real love, as opposed to commercialized love does exist, in huge range and depth and pitch. I feel the piece pivots around, the love between a man and a woman the result of their natural tendency to be one. It’s a woman and man standing together…true love stands together in equality and balance to what is honest and pure.. between the two figures it can also be understood on a deeper level.
I have to agree, it does have an erotic tinge to it!!!

I love this fantastic idea from the concept of using real legs and and the woman and man. I’m looking forward to seeing it in different colors. The fire station red is great though. I have to say it my immediate idea was that the woman is getting it from behind. Or maybe it is a turn on the phrase behind every man there is a woman or behind every woman there is a man. I guess it is just a question of perspective
