Pharrell Williams officially announced today the rebirth of the ICECREAM skate team, naming up-and-comers Andre Beverley, Emmet Duffy, Jamel Marshall and Stephan Martinez as the first members of the squad. Pharrell described the launch:
“Growing up, you see it everywhere: kids with all the talent in the world, but with very few or no opportunities. Well, these are those kids and we’re giving them that opportunity. They’ve got the skill. They’ve got the personality. They’ve got a real story and ICECREAM is the platform for them to show that. It’s gonna be a beautiful thing to watch them grow”.

One thing you never stop doing is giving the youth a chance to shine. That’s always amazing. I’m a 19 year old college student, packed my bags, and left my family and friends behind to move to Barcelona and continue following my dreams. It’s been both fun and hard.
