    History!

  31. stephanie-jane November 5th, 2008 5:58 am

I got up at 3am and stayed up until 6am to watch Obama’s speech in Grant Park, Chicago, even though I had a university lecture first thing in the morning. Although I’m from the UK and therefore I couldn’t vote I was still SOOOO happy, I couldn’t stop smiling.

On the TV here there was footage from all over America NY, Chicago, LA and so on. However there was also footage from Kenya where Obama’s grandmother lives, was so nice that she was happy considering his other grandmother passed away just before he made history. People in the UK were partying aswell!

Anyway, without goign on for too long, YAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY!

  32. Allen Walker November 5th, 2008 7:00 am

This is kind of a big deal.

  35. London November 5th, 2008 7:57 am

I am so happy. Its such an amazing feeling, an amazing victory! Can you imagine how those that fought in the civil rights movement and saw Martin Luther King Jr. give the I have a Dream speech, can you imagine how they must be feeling right now? Change is here, in so MANY ways, change is here.

  36. jerseyfame November 5th, 2008 8:13 am

This could be the beginning of a beautiful legacy. I want to thank my dad for setting the foundation for this and also the American people for choosing what they felt was right instead of what was comfortable.

I am F.A.M.E. and I approve this message.

  41. London November 5th, 2008 10:34 am

LOL, I feel you LoveBomb. I can’t wait to be able to say President Obama, but it’s President-Elect Obama until he’s sworn in January 20th, I think that’s the date. Unfortunately, Bush is still the President, for right now, but he got his moving papers. :)

  51. sk8boardg11 November 5th, 2008 2:44 pm

Hmmmm So it looks like people vote for whats popular not right well congrats anyhow… but im not excited or saying whooo hooo until I see him do something spectacular … and it shouldnt be to hard to make himself look good cause look what he’s working with, he got handed the country when its rock bottom so it’s not like he can make it any worse it can only get better with any decision he makes so not really a accomplishment in my eyes YET… and to all who say wow we are so mature because we have a black president you are prime examples yourself of how people make it a racial thing.. why not say yay we have a democrat as president sad sad day Ive seen so many hiprocrites.

  52. milo mel November 5th, 2008 5:35 pm

like Carl Sagan said ‘somewhere something incredible is waiting to be known’…..and he’s here OBAMA!!!
It’s truly incredible he’s gonna change America and the world sky’s the limit i’ve never been so proud the 44th and 1st black president only in America!!!

  53. courtney November 5th, 2008 5:44 pm

Yay!! Go Obama..I voted for the first time this election and im so glad I did. This will go down in history and I’ll be able to tell my grandchildren I was there. I can re-claim my american pride now haha!

  54. London November 5th, 2008 5:46 pm

Maybe you missed the point of how history was made today. It wasn’t because a democrat won the office of President, it wasn’t because a MAN won the office, not even for the Right man to win office because each person elected is believed to be that right man. The history that was made was that a BLACK man, a man of color has been elected President of the United States for the first time EVER!! 220 years since George Washington was elected. After years of slavery, segregation, and racial conflict and profiling. Hell yeah we should be excited! And that excitement does not make anyone a hypocrite.

McCain supporters need to get over it.

  55. chrismccardell November 5th, 2008 6:47 pm

JUST AS WE KNEW. HATERS WILL NEVER GIVE OBAMA AND HIS MANY SUPPORTS THE CREDIT THATS DUE. THANK GOODNESS OBAMA WON AND HE IS BLACK. HE IS A BLACK MAN THAT DID WHAT THE GOP AND MANY DEMOCRATS HAS NEVER DONE;ENGAGE THE AMERICANS IN 50 STATES NO MATTER THEIR RACES OR SEXUAL PREFERENCE. HE INCLUDED MORE,HE NEVER EXCLUDED ANYONE AND DROVE OUR HOPE TO THE POLLS.THIS IS SOMETHING THAT PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THE SHORT END OF THE STICK CAN QUITE UNDERSTAND.
