Louvre Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.

The Louvre in Abu Dhabi will be located on Saadiyat Island’s new Cultural District, and will be the  world’s largest single concentration of premier cultural institutions.  This does look nice but nothing can beat the original, it did cost the U.A.E. $520 Millions to get the rights to use the name alone and they will pay the another $727 Millionls to France for art loans, exhibitions and management advice. Wealth is Culture but at what price?  Designed by French architect Jean Nouvel, it should open in 2013.

    i thought wealth is of the heart and mind, not the pocket…anyway lol, it seems like the cost of culture hit them for like, a billi…and some change!

    i don’t ever see sh*t like this when i go to Dubai, i know i don’t get around or be there long enuff tho…the ladies in the airport be caked up in make up too! but they doin’ it pretty major out there. that’s where i first (and only) seen phantoms in person (right at the airport, benz’s, hummers, ranges, lexes, u name it, they got it!

    There is always the problem with architecture that the design itself trumps what goes inside it…unbeknownced to the public…architecture is all about the illusion.

    :arrow: *ehem* uhh in dis particular regards/aspect…
    wealth “can b” culture at tha cost of our wildlife, natural life, n aquatic life…n eventually it embarks to a point where it just F’s wit tha whole entire ecosystem… :sad:

    ~now please dont get me wrong…the museum is absolutely beautimus n even insanely magical (i.e. “pavilions, plazas, alleyways and canals ‘evoking the image of a city floating on the sea”)…but is it necessary :?: …n if so…how essential is it :?: ~
