The fact that there are suites from $35 grand to $65 grand a night, means there are people spending the money to stay there. Good for them. Unfortuanately, there is a child in a third world country dying for a clean glass of water, a child in america dying for a liver transplant their parents can’t afford. Hello world, you were born naked with nothing, when you die, you can’t take the diamonds or cash with you. Stop spending on things that don’t matter, and use it to HELP!

    HAHAHA!
    35G’s
You can find some place to live with that.

  8. SommerSoft August 26th, 2009 2:05 pm

Excess for sure. Unnecessary. If someone offered me a key to a room here versus Budget Inn, I’ll run straight for that bathtub “quicker than a speeding bullet.” Now, that being said, do I really NEED all of that excess? No. Just a bed and a toilet will suffice. Oh, need the shower too. And the bathtub. And the view. :-) OK, OK. Yes, you can feed a small village with what you spend to stay here – Oprah feeds villages but still stays at Ventana Inn Resort in Big Sur on a cliff overlooking the coast. So it’s all about perspective. Can’t hate people for affording nice things. My main thing is, be appreciative of what you have wherever you are and you’ll be blessed abundantly – live today like tomorrow won’t come. Tangent. Anyway, some parts of this hotel really do look like a Courtyard Marriot. I’ll choose this place, Budget Inn or a Courtyard Marriot over a cardboard box. But if I had to sleep in an elevator in the projects next to bum piss with roaches crawling in my ear, I’d do that too b/c I’d be merely happy to be alive. P put it best – “Wealth is of the heart and mind, not of the pocket.”

beautiful.. but i would just try in buy it all instead of payin 35,000 everynight

  10. Misla August 26th, 2009 8:01 pm

lol @”you have to bring your own siren”. that was a good one.
@SommerSoft yeah it is about the perspective but is it really necessary to spend 35 to 65 grand for one night? to me thats just ridiculous no matter in which financial situation you are.

    Sounds affordable!

  12. Mrs_PWilliams August 27th, 2009 2:12 am

The first place is amazing. Love the decor. Geneva? I’ll pass. It’s not that impressive.

^@MISLA YAY! Someone beckons me to do what I clearly love to do- WRITE! I’m totally on par with you. It’s all relative because “a man cuts his coat according to his size”. Meaning, If you’re on a $65,000 budget and shopping for a car, you might choose a Lexus luxury sedan because you earned that $65,000 and no one can tell you how to spend it or what you should prefer. Whereas if I were on the $5,000 budget, I’d consider a used Ford escort because perhaps my earnings afford me just that. The $65,000 purchaser (you in this case) may give $100,000 to causes to educate starving African children whose parents died of AIDS, while my budget allows me to give $0.10 a week to a church basket. Who is to judge how you or I spend our money given our varying situations? Is one person kinder or more humanitarian than the other?

Bottom line LITERALLY is – I support your argument, too. :-) Check it out – my 1st AND last two sentences mesh with your opinion. “Excess for sure. Unnecessary. But if I had to sleep in an elevator in the projects next to bum piss with roaches crawling in my ear, I’d do that too b/c I’d be merely happy to be alive. P put it best – “Wealth is of the heart and mind, not of the pocket.” Also, my pseudonym “Minimalist” implies that I don’t NEED all the extra frivolous material either. However, I enjoy extra when blessed to receive. I mean, you’re raising a question to me, a free-spirit. LOL!! My peace and lovin’ uncles in Germany named me Sommer, German spelling for Summer. I only moved downtown last year to help the homeless and I direct a program that helps further educate homeless kids on Skid Row while I feed the older ones in passing on my way home most days of the week. (And I find time to work, relax and support me) Helping others can be a sacrifice but it’s rewarding to the spirit. OFF this TANGENT.
I’m just saying, I understand tastes of affluence because I work til’ my eyeballs pop out so that I can visit Big Sur resorts if that’s how I choose to enjoy the fruits of my labor. I don’t have to be a martyr because other people are suffering, but I do my part in several ways to elevate the underpriviledged. And frankly, I’m NOT that priviledged – I just REALIZE what I DO have is a blessing, appreciate it, and allocate it generously (generously is relative to that man’s coat I mentioned above) to myself AND others.

@MISLA THANKS for actually blogging love! Engaging in discussion is how I learn! Stimilate minds, for real! In my opinion, you’re right too! <3 <3

I agree with SommerSoft. Do enjoy the fruits of your labor. However, keep a conscious mind about effects of your spending.

  17. Misla August 28th, 2009 7:16 am

@SommerSoft wow i really enjoyed what u’ve written. thats funny i actually live in Germany :)

all i wanted to say is that people often forget whats important in life. i mean look at some comments here. peeps are talking about how its their biggest dream to stay in one of these suits just for 1 night or what they would do to be able to afford this. wrong things make ppl happy nowadays, thats what im concerned about.
you obviously understood that because it makes you happy to help instead of 24/7 trying to become super rich.
im really not hating on rich people at all. and if you prefer stayin at expensive hotels then go for it but you have to keep in mind that there are more important things in life, e.g. that you have your friends and people you love around you.
and like you said, most importantly: Appreciate!!

    Love,
    Misla

SAVING MONEY IS CRUCIAL NOT WASTING IT THEN HAVING NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT LATER. YOU COULD BE THE RICHEST MAN ON THE PLANET BUT IF SPEND WITHOUT SAVING SOON YOU WILL HAVE NOTHING.
THE TENTH PITURE LOOKS LIKE AN EXCELLENT PLACE TO HOLD A WEDDING RECEPTION.

    Thanks @misla! Thanks ACEBOOGIE :-) <3 <3 <3
