Bill Maher can be disrespectful at times but he’s a real ass dude and so is Jay-Z…he kept it mature and classy throughout the whole interview and all rappers should look at this interview as Hip-Hop Image 101

I wanna start by saying Rest in Peace, DJ AM. I’m hoping it’s a rumor. Hard drugs are killing off all of our creative, talented people. We need to do something about this.
This may have been one of the most meaningful posts to me. I love JAY-Z. LOVE, LOVe, LOVE! HE NEVER INTERVIEWS so this is rare – part of what I love about him so much…he’s kind of mysterious and not a camera whore. What I like most is his ability to remain humble while still maturely knowing his worth and acknowledging his success. This interview gives rise to his REAL talent – his writing ability. I find it absolutely amazing that he wrote so much as a child because that hits close to home for me. I am amazed at the thickness of the book Maher compiled for him. It made me think of compiling all of my old journals. Jay-Z maintains a level of professionalism while still being colloquial in speech, meaning, he keeps it real. (ie. The “Are YOU high” comment) He is amazingly quick-witted, which I did NOT know because some of his lyrics can drone on kind of slowly, but his vernacular has always been impeccable – like that of an Oxford scholar. The metaphors he uses are off the chain. I have my first few CD’s that Ifeel like playing NOW “I’m feelin’ it…” and “Sunshine” were my favorite first few singles. “Gold-diggers with your eyes on my riches, can’t knock the hustle for real…” they’re some of my favorite songs.
I love his reaction to the “Captain Save a Ho” comment…LOL! Maher is a fool for that one.
Jay-Z brought intelligence to the game without being “corny”. What a positive inspiration to us all, and quite a businessman too. I like self-made men. Takes a lot of intelligence and NOT Daddy’s connections or pockets to get it done. “Self-learned” is honorable b/c it’s not only rare, but harder to achieve as it is an innate quality of a genius. He’s not boasting a Harvard degree, but might have more to show for his work than most degree recipients.
Respectfully Submitted,
Someone who appreciates art

One more: BIG PIMPIN’ on the L-A deeees…
GOTTA ADD A VERY IMPORTANT POINT RE: NEPTUNES INFLUENCE ON JAY-Z.
Someone listen to his imitiation British accent on “Ni@@a Please” when he says…”I give em’ nightmares..” “…Manolo Blahniks..I’m going through their bodies like an ultra-SONIC…There’s no holdin’ on em’ just George Jefferson strollin’ on em’” WHAT??
“You should be comin’ home wit’ me sittin’ in this lap full of LUX- UR- REE” – Very old-skool “Don’t push me cuz I’m close to the EDGE…” with that staccato Pharrell does. Thank you guys for that beat and especially for “I KNOW”.
Jay-Z knows art too, apparently. He picks great beats from you, or you make great beats for him, I don’t know which is which or how it works. But it works.
Respectfully Submitted,
Keep the change my ni@@a..it’s too late for that. Ni@@a please..You ain’t writin’ no blogs like these…I know, I’m cheese.
this may have to be one of my favourite disscusions by a hip-hop artist about hip-hop..
not many people understand there is a difference between rap and hip-hop..

That was awkward and uncomfortable. why does it seem like Jay always seems so uninterested when he is being interviewed??
