Knights in Shining Armor
Nice mustache! Here are a few pictures from the military museum inside the Invalides. First stop knights. The exhibit is fascinating and really showcases some amazing craftsmanship as you will see is some of the other pictures after the jump.
Kings also fought on the battlefields…
This has to be one of the weirdest helmet on display! We wonder is it reflects the personality of the knight who wore it…
The original cowboy hat or how to dress up the battlefield a little! The French have always been so fashionable!
The enemy, that horse probably wasn’t the biggest fan of it’s rider either…
Guns made knights fade in history as steel armor could no longer protect soldiers…
A kings sword (François 1er)
The fluer-de-lis can be seen throughout the museum and in case you were wondering is the symbol of French royalty…

These were all really fascinating. The detail is incredible. Very, very nice pics- thanks!
What is really, Amazing is that at the period of time in which armor like these (if not these) were made for actual wear, were crafted by hand, not a mold, or machine. A man known as the town blacksmith put a lifetime worth of skills into each piece.
