Pharrell Williams and Mike Einziger Debut New Startup Technology at TechCrunch’s Disrupt NY
TechCrunch’s premier startup and technology news conference, TechCrunch Disrupt, returned to New York this week in Manhattan. Bringing to life the things that make TechCrunch tick—tech and startups— Disrupt NY ended the conference with a performance by Pharrell Williams and Incubus guitarist, Mike Einziger to showcase the new technology from their new startup, MIXhalo. Founded by Einziger with Pharrell as a an advisor and investor, MIXhalo’s new audio technology essentially makes live events sound studio-quality to concert goers.
At live concerts, musicians are able to hear their performance via headphones that allow them to hear with high-quality sounds. But, the audience does not receive the same sound through blaring speakers. With MIXhalo, you install the iOS app (there are plans for an Android version, too), connect to a special MIXhalo network and then you can hear what Einziger called a “a really, really high quality, studio-quality audio experience,” even if you’re “a thousand feet away from the stage.”
We’re stoked to see this rollout. Check out Pharrell and Mike speak about MIXhalo and their performance in the video below.
