INSIDE THE POP-UP AND LAUNCH PARTY
Billionaire Boys Club x Jon Stan Take Over 7 Mercer
On Wednesday, July 29th, Billionaire Boys Club held a pop-up and launch party alongside Jon Stan to give an exclusive first look at the brand's collaborative fitted hats. Held at the brand's New York City flagship, the event brought together sports, art, music, and fashion under one roof; a fitting celebration for a collaboration rooted in storytelling, heritage, and bold reinterpretation of classic New York style.
Jon Stan, who is known for his fitted cap work across the MLB and NBA, marked his first-ever collaboration with an iconic streetwear brand through Billionaire Boys Club. He shared the inspiration behind the two colorways from the collection:
"Every colorway tells its own story. The Rose Pink hat was inspired by Pharrell at the 2004 MTV Video Music Awards, when Billionaire Boys Club was embracing pink while most brands were still afraid to touch it.
The black hat with the green undervisor is my love letter to classic New York fitted culture. Growing up in New York, a 'black nasty' was something you just didn't do. I wanted to honor that tradition with a timeless Billionaire Boys Club colorway."
"This collaboration means a lot to me. People know Jon Stan for collaborations across the MLB and NBA, but this is my first with an iconic streetwear brand. Inspired by Pharrell's fearless creativity, I wanted to take something familiar and disrupt it in a beautiful way while staying true to myself."
The day began with a pop-up from 12PM to 5PM, giving the community and friends of both brands a chance to see and shop the collaboration in person, with DJ Mixxy Payne setting the tone. Throughout the afternoon, artist Jeff Rose King live-painted a canvas inspired by the two brands' collaborative hats; a piece that would later be raffled off at the afterparty.
Many familiar faces had come out to support throughout the day that spanned from sports, entertainment and culture including NBA trainer Chris Brickley, MLB's José Reyes, internet personality Shiggy, artist and internet personality Gorilla Nems, professional boxer Edgar Berlanga, NBA prospect Ian Jackson, influencer Sakido Rivers, sneaker designer Jae Tips, and TV/radio personality Lance Fresh.
To extend the celebration, after the store closed, from 6PM - 9PM Billionaire Boys Club hosted an afterparty where Chow held a live performance and sets by DJ Zoe and Godspeed carried the vibe for the rest of the evening. To round out the hospitality experience Rémy Martin served as the evening's liquor partner.
