BBC X PRIVATE LABEL NYC

We’re super proud to announce our newest collaboration, this time with PRIVATE LABEL NYC—the premium travel bag brand.

As the first official boutique location to stock PRIVATE LABEL bags, we decided to turn it up a notch for PRIVATE LABEL and BBC ICECREAM fans, as well as sneaker enthusiasts everywhere, with the first collaboration between the two brands. The collaboration focuses on our intergalactic enthusiasm, as the sneaker traveling bag features an all-over moon print interior, and an exterior displaying our classic BBC Helmet logo and a PRIVATE LABEL logo on the reverse, both in 3M reflective ink.

Every BBC x PRIVATE LABEL duffle is TSA Compliant & Carry-On approved and comes fitted with:

  • Three adjustable dividers that allow users to fully customize the space within.
  • Two sneaker cases that each fit shoes up to size 14.
  • Hidden laptop compartment that fits up to size 15″ laptops.
  • Water resistant material that is vented for easy cleaning and decreasing unwanted odors.

The BBC x PRIVATE LABEL Duffle will be available on Saturday, August 19th, exclusively at the BBC NYC Fagship in SoHo, NY. We’d like to thank the amazing team over at PRIVATE LABEL NYC for working with us on this awesome collab!

The Billionaire Boys Club Fall 2017 Collection

We’re back with a Fall 2017 BBC Collection full of our beloved camo patterns and psychedelic 1960s inspiration.

Sticking to the staple BBC aesthetic, this collection features vibrant graphics and patterns on bright colored pieces. Along with camouflage prints, flannel is also seen within the capsule, as well as distressed denim. Dip dye technique is utilized for staple BBC logo tees along with color block cut and sew knit shirts. Within the new collection, various pieces are adorned with peace, love and unity symbols that were frequently used during the Hippie movement in the 60s.

The Hippie movement was a youth counterculture that emerged during the mid 1960s that essentially rejected the conventions of American mainstream life. The counterculture originated on the basis of the youth’s opposition to the U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War. Birthed on college campuses in San Francisco, the movement quickly spread to New York’s Greenwich Village, and later spread to other countries including Canada and Britain. Hippies felt alienated from middle-class society, which they saw as dominated by materialism and repression, and they developed their own distinctive lifestyle. Hippies advocated nonviolence and love, a popular phrase being “Make love, not war,” for which they were sometimes called “flower children.” They promoted openness and tolerance as alternatives to the restrictions and regimentation they saw in middle-class society. With this movement also came a new form of fashion, that allowed them to express their free-spirit mentality, including florals, peace and unity symbols, beads and sandals.

The Fall ’17 Collection will be available at the BBC NYC flagship and website on Friday, August 4th at 12 p.m.

RECAP: Astronaut Leland Melvin at the BBC Flagship

We were honored to have Astronaut Leland Melvin at the BBC flagship store in NYC for the signing of his new autobiography, Chasing Space: An Astronaut’s Story of Grit, Grace and Second Chances. In a room of longtime fans and curios kids, Astronaut Leland Melvin told his inspirational story and answered questions about his journey from those in the room and fans asking via Instagram Live. A longtime friend of Pharrell and the BBC brand, Leland’s path from being drafted to the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys to becoming an astronaut is a story like no other, and has served as a force of positivity for us here at BBC.

“Leland has helped me connect to the Universe I searched for so long since being a kid. From being obsessed with the TV series In Search Of to discovering Carl Sagan’s world, space always fascinated me. Meeting Leland allowed me to connect even deeper into the cosmos on so many levels. In 2009 Leland took one of my BBC tees to space as well as a piece of music we worked on together, which as you can imagine meant a lot to me. He also introduced me to Katherine Johnson and has worked closely with my mother on my charity to help further educate kids from my hometown. I’m happy to be able to call Leland a friend and looking forward to many more years of learning with him. And now he will take you, too, on a journey.”Pharrell Williams

Guests were also able to view the OG logo BBC t-shirt that Leland flew with him during his second visit into space, making it the first BBC tee that has flown 4,490,138 miles.

Copies of Chasing Space: An Astronaut’s Story of Grit, Grace and Second Chances were signed and sealed by Leland himself, and a personal note to each guest. We’d like to give a huge THANK YOU to our friend, Astronaut Leland Melvin, for coming by and sharing his story with us. Click the jump below for recap pics of the event.

Decked with adidas and BBC branded merch, the store also featured a custom-made HU sneaker display structure with glowing green and yellow lighting, illuminating the new shoes. Inspired by the adidas Stan Smith silhouette, Pharrell’s Tennis Hu is essentially a modernized tennis shoe, featuring flexible primeknit, a lightweight EVA midsole, and a built-in lacing system.

Special guests included Stretch Armstrong, Smoke DZA, Kirk Knight, Kerwin Frost and Luka Sabbat.

We also debuted our BBC NYC exclusive Ace and Court tees in celebration of the Tennis Hu launch, that are now available in store at 7 Mercer and online here.
